The Phantom has had shockingly few appearances in Anime. I'm hoping one day for a big Anime feature film, but until then, here is what we got so far.
Update! 6/6/07- Found a new one! Its pretty far removed, but there's no mistaking where the influence comes from. Check it out below!

(2002) The File of Young Kindaichi: The Opera House Murders
& the Drama version - 
There are actually two versions of this. You can get all 3 of the Phantom related episodes of The Young Kindaichi series on 3 separate disks, or you can get the, 'Drama' version, which I think is all 3 of those episodes edited down to one little movie. (On 2 disks.... I think because they are on VCD.) I haven't seen the Drama version yet, so I'm not totally sure if that's actually what it is. But that's not to say I don't own it! I actually did spring for a copy of this 'drama version' oh not so very long ago AND!...... Broke it on the first day. God damn those DVD's cases. Anyway, needless to say, I still have no idea what's on the disk. I still stick behind my initial theory for now.
Where to Buy: If you would like to buy either the 3 episode set, or the drama version, your best bet on finding it will be at YesAsia.com. The 3 episode set contains trading cards like the ones shown above. (at least they did when I bought the set.) There is nothing on the back of these cards. Keep in mind that these trading card do not also come with The Drama Version. Another good place to check for either version is Ebay They seem to have them quite often.

Also, this is the cover of the Manga version of the same story. The plot differs a great deal from the Anima version. Copies of this can usually always be found on Amazon.com

(2007) Blood+
A Phantom like character appears in 3 episodes. Its not a direct reference to Phantom, but with the name and the mask and all the roses and what not, I'm pretty sure Phantom of The Opera was part of what they were thinking about. Blood+ is a sequel of sorts to the Anime movie, Blood: The Last Vampire.
